Outside Mount
1. Position the headrail centered over the opening at the desired height.
Mark the height of the headrail on the wall/trim at each end.
o You may want to install one slat on the headrail at each end to ensure that you have sufficient
clearance to the floor.
o It is recommended to leave about 3/4 to 1 inch of space between the bottom of the slats and the
floor.
2. Mount the end brackets on the wall/trim with the included screws.
Mount the top of the brackets level with the marks you made in step 1. You
should mount them about an inch from the end of the headrail.
3. If the blind came with center support brackets, draw a string tightly between the two end brackets. Mount the center support brackets such that they are spaced evenly and at the same
height as the string. In this manner, all brackets should be directly in line
with each other.
4. Adjust the headrail clips (see illustration) so that they are all in line.
o You can use a string drawn tightly between the two outside brackets to align the headrail clips.
o You will want to ensure that the headrail clips are adjusted such that the vanes will have sufficient
clearance from any obstructions such as door handles or window locks.
5. Install the headrail into the clips.
6. Install the vanes into the headrail.
o Adjust the vanes so that they are all aligned properly and that they are not pushed behind each
other. Improperly installed vanes will prohibit the tilt mechanism from working
properly.
7. Install the valance onto the headrail. Adjust it so that
the returns just touch the wall.
8. WARNING: Children can die from strangulation in cords.
For child safety, if you have cord controls, anchor the cords with the included cord anchors. Keep any loose cords out of the reach of children.
9. Your wooden vertical blinds are now installed!
Inside Mount – Inside Valance
1. Mount the valance into the window opening with the included screws.
You may want to adjust the headrail clips (step 2) prior to tightening the mounting screws completely.
o If the machine screw that attaches the headrail clips is inhibiting the valance brackets from being
mounted properly, simply remove the headrail clips altogether and then reinstall them with mounting screws after the valance
brackets have been mounted.
3. Install the headrail into the clips.
4. Install the vanes into the headrail.
o Adjust the vanes so that they are all aligned properly and that they are not pushed behind each
other. Improperly installed vanes will prohibit the tilt mechanism from working
properly.

5. Install the headrail into the clips.
o If the machine screw that attaches the headrail clips to the valance brackets is inhibiting the
headrail from being mounted properly, you will need to install the valance into the window opening first. Do this by simply removing the headrail clips from the valance brackets altogether. Mount the valance into the opening, and then reinstall the headrail clips with mounting screws. Ensure all clips are aligned and face the same direction.
6. Adjust the valance so that the returns just touch the wall.
