You can enjoy all the convenience and benefits of remote controlled wood blinds by simply retrofitting them with motorization.
This is a simple task of adding motorization to your existing blinds. Shutter Classic makes this fast and easy with
a Wood Blind Remote Control Retrofit Kit. Most wood blinds with 2 inch slats or larger slats can be retrofitted.
These retrofit kits use only the highest quality components from Harmonic Designs, Inc. They come with everything
you need to retrofit your existing wood blinds with motorization. They come as either infrared remote control or radio
remote control units.
Kit Contents:
- XL-Series Motor Unit and Headrail Adapter (Fits both 2" x 2" and low profile 2" x 1-1/2" headrials) XL-Series Motor Specifications
- 5" satellite eye (not needed on radio kits)
- Battery cartridge
- Tilt Rod Adaptor
Retrofit Requirements and Limitations:
- Your headrail must be either a 2" x 2" or low profile 2" x 1-1/2" headrail. Most all wood blinds with two inch
slats or larger utilize headrails of this size.
- Your tilt rod style must be one of those pictured below. For example, some very old Kirch or Levelor blinds can
not be retrofitted.
- The total suspended weight of your wood blinds must be 30 pounds or less.
- The motor is 2-1/2 inches long. Your headrail therefore needs at least 2-1/2 inches of unobstructed
space at one end for the motor to fit. Existing tilt controls will be removed during the retrofit and so they are not
a concern.
