By ordering with us you help reforest the world. For every order we receive we will make a donation to plant a tree in the US.
To do this we donate to the Global ReLeaf campaign from American Forests a forestry preservation organization founded in 1875.
Most of the trees we help plant go toward reforesting areas burned by recent wildfires. Currently, our contributions are going toward:
- California Wildfire ReLeaf
A large-scale tree planting initiative started in 1999 to plant millions of trees in areas scorched by catastrophic wildfires. The dramatic wildfires in southern California in the fall of 2007 have created tremendous additional need and helped spur Shutter Classic to initiate this program.
- Pike/San Isabel National Forest, Colorado
More than 100,000 ponderosa pine and Douglas-fir seedlings will be planted over 1,022 acres, part of the area destroyed by the Hayman Burn.
- South Texas Wildlife Refuge
This project supports restoration efforts on the Lower Rio Grande Valley National Wildlife Refuge.
Shutter Classic will make these donations for all orders of Plantation Shutters, Wood Blinds, and Wood Vertical blinds. These donations will be made even if the product ordered is not made from wood.
