Our Warranties

Shutter Classic, Inc. is a reseller, not a manufacturer. The blinds and shutters we sell are backed by the warranties of the manufacturers we work with. The manufacturers will honor the warranty even if Shutter Classic goes out of business. Below are summaries of the warranties that accompany our products.

Basswood Shutters & Standard Size Shutter Sets
Shutter Classic, Inc. (SCI) warrants that this product shall be free of any defects in materials or workmanship for the lifetime of this product. SCI shall repair or replace, at its option, any defective product upon receipt of notice. SCI may require, as a condition to obtaining warranty service, that the defective product or part be returned to the factory for inspection. A product originally sold unfinished will be replaced in an unfinished condition.

Wood is a natural product and may have characteristic differences in the grain pattern and stain effect. This is considered an enhancement of the beauty of natural wood and is not a material defect. This warranty does not cover defects caused by improper installation, improper alteration, abuse, misuse, or exposure to outside elements.

Crestview, Classic Line, & Alder Shutters
Shutter Classic, Inc. (SCI) warrants to the original purchaser of its products to be free from defects by reason of improper workmanship and/or materials for ten (10) years from the date of purchase. SCI warrants the finish of its products to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for three (3) years from the date of purchase. Should the product be determined to be defective during the period listed above, the following remedies are available: SCI will at its option: 1) repair the product without charge; 2) replace the product without charge, in the same stage of fitting and/or finishing as was originally supplied; or 3) refund the purchase price of the product.

This warranty does not cover: 1) physical abuse, normal wear and tear, any unintended use of the product, fire, flood or other Acts of God; 2) damages resulting from misinterpretation of the instructions provided by SCI; 3) natural variations in the color or texture of the wood; 4) warp that does not exceed 1/4” in the plane of the panel itself; and 5) costs, losses, or expenses arising from the finishing and/or installation of the product or said products replacement only if non-SCI installation/finishing services are used.

Shutter Classic, Inc. shall not be liable under the foregoing warranty unless the following conditions are met: 1) product must be utilized in a clean, well-ventilated and dry place (Do not expose to moisture, soiling, temperature extremes, or dramatic changes in humidity); 2) product must be inspected upon delivery for visible damage and/or defects; 3) if product is delivered unfinished, it must be finished and installed within 14 days of delivery; 4) all surfaces of the product, including top, bottom and ends of louvers, must receive a finish coat of paint or stain.

Note: If the product is ever cut, machined, re-finished, or altered in any way, the warranty stated herein is null and void.

WoodMill 2" Wood Blinds, Vertical Wood Blinds, & Cheyenne Blinds
Shutter Classic, Inc. (SCI) warrants to the original purchaser of its products to be free from defects by reason of improper workmanship and/or materials for ten (10) years from the date of purchase. SCI warrants the finish of its products to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for three (3) years from the date of purchase. ShutterBlind 2-1/2" Wood Blinds
Shutter Classic, Inc. (SCI) warrants to the original purchaser that the product is free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use and as long as the product remains in the original window. This warranty extends only to the original purchaser of the product.

This warranty shall not apply to any of the parts that have failed due to accident, negligence, alterations, misuse, abuse, improper handling, installations, or maintenance. Failure to follow instructions for operating or installing the product, loss of color intensity due to exposure to the sun over a long time, exposure to salt air, or normal wear and tear will also void this warranty.

Shutter Classic, Inc.’s obligation under this warranty shall be limited to the repair or exchange of any parts or components that may prove defective in normal use within the life of the blind. SCI reserves the right to inspect any product or component prior to repair, replacement, or refunding of the purchase price. In no event shall SCI be liable for transportation costs to return the blind to the factory. SCI will not be liable for cost of removal or re-installation of the product, or incidental damages.
