It is easy to do wood blinds for windows over 96 inches wide. Since the option of multiple blinds on one headrail is not
available on windows over 96 inches wide, you simply hang multiple blinds in the same window. Here are a few steps on how
to do it:
- Make sure you have a solid mounting surface for center support brackets. This is usually the top of the window (inside
mount) or the wall (outside mount). See measuring instructions for the definition of inside and outside mounts.
- Order each blind individually in our on-line ordering system, specifying the width for EACH.
- In the "Additional Information and Remarks" section at the bottom of the order form, for each blind be sure to:
- Specify the total window width. The widths of the individual blinds should add up to the total window
width.
- Specify the name of the window so we will know what blinds will be hung next to each other.
- Specify if you want an unspliced valance. Standard valances over 96 inches are spliced. An unspliced
valance can be ordered but it must be shipped truck freight which incurrs a surcharge per blind ($100 freight charge per order,
not per blind). The valance itself is free. Also, a common valance may delay shipment since we may need to special order
longer materials if not in stock.
